Tomato Plant, Brandywine, Heirloom

Big, beautiful fruits that first brought recognition to the term heirloom. Well known and loved for its perfect flavor balance of sugars and acids. Delicious, deep rose-scarlet flesh is smooth and incredibly juicy. Pick just before ripe to avoid cracking. Potato-leaf variety. Indeterminate, 16 oz fruit. #1 potted plants have been planted deep to develop a vigorous root system. 3.5″ potted tomatoes are eventually potted up into #1 pots to prevent becoming root bound.

Tomato Plant, San Marzano, Paste

This is our favorite for making sauce. Classic Italian favorite with high yields; excellent richly flavored tomato for preserving. Prized for its firm pulp, low seed count and easily-removed skin. Medium-sized fruits are slightly larger than Roma but smaller than Gilbertie and Amish. Resists cracking and holds well both on the vine and in storage. Heavy yields. Indeterminate. Few seeds.

Tomato Plant, Sungold, Cherry

Sungold’s fruity or tropical flavor is a big hit with everyone who tastes it. The bright apricot-orange round globes are 1 ¼ inches across and are borne on long, 10–15 fruit, grape-like trusses. The vigorous indeterminate vines produce equally well in the field and the early spring greenhouse.

Broccoli, De Cicco, Jumbo 6pk Plants

Italian variety known for tender stalks and mild flavor. Reliable multi-cut variety that produces a compact, 3-4″ bluish-green central head followed by a prolific set of side shoots. Long harvest period for both central heads and side shoots.

Red Cabbage (Red Acre) Jumbo 6pk Plants

A top-notch red variety used raw, cooked or in coleslaw. Heads are deep red, globe shaped, 6 to 7 inches in diameter. Red Acre stores better than most early cabbage.

Fennel (Finale) Plants, Jumbo 6pk

Finale produces thick, juicy, slightly flattened, 4 inch bulbs that have a pleasant, anise flavor. Bolt-resistant plants mean better field holding, and the bulbs have a good shelf life after harvest. Fennel is delicious fresh in salads and slaws or boiled, steamed, roasted or braised. The feathery fronds make a beautiful and tasty garnish. Our grandchildren love to chew on the “licorice” plant. Borage Plant

This 2’–3′ tall, versatile herb is exquisite in the garden. In addition to attracting bees and other beneficial insects, it can be used as a cover crop. These are grown by young farmers Miles and Emmett (our grandsons) as a small entrepreneurial project. Started from an old and very productive vine on the farm, these plants thrive in our climate here. We have made delicious juice and jam from these grapes. Dark purple, slip skin, seeded. The pigment that gives Concord grapes their distinctive hue is responsible for the fruit’s health benefits. The plants will be dormant late fall until spring, but can be planted any time. We grow without the use of synthetic/chemical sprays or fertilizers and follow organic guidelines. 1 gal pot
